This artifact is a task analysis for a topic program for the Early Childhood Group at the Conductive Learning Center. It was completed during my lab school hours in the fall of 2014. The theme for the topic was "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle." The whole topic is written before the session begins, so this analysis is the breakdown of how the topic will be presented, along with goals for each of the children. There are also aims for the whole group. When writing the task analysis, I came up with a general plan for the topic while thinking of goals that they children would be able to accomplish through that. In this case, I wrote one posture/sitting goal and one cognitive/communication goal. The plan for the topic needed to be changed a little bit while I was teaching because there was less classroom help than I had planned for. We did not have time to make a timeline, but I included that as an extra activity anyway. The biggest thing I would change if I were to do this again, would be for the children to have more hands-on experiences. Instead of giving them each a chance to hold the objects and test it themselves, I did it for the whole group to see. I think it would have been much more meaningful and engaging if I had allowed the children to do this themselves, with help from a teacher. This artifact covers Standard #5 because it is an analysis of one way that I applied content to engage learners in a creative and authentic way.
